Final Presidential Candidates Selected; NIC Visits Scheduled

North Idaho College Athletics issued the following announcement on June 1.

North Idaho College has selected five final candidates for the next NIC president.

The Presidential Search Committee, a 27-person committee with representation from throughout the college community and the community at large, selected five finalists from a candidate pool of 59 applicants recruited by the Pauly Group.

Final candidates are:

Dr. Samuel “Todd” Brand, Chief Academic Officer at Ashland Community & Technical College in Ashland, Ky.

Dr. Steve Condon, Chancellor at Carolina University in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Dr. Chad Crumbaker, Provost and Executive Vice President for Student Affairs at West Virginia University-Parkersburg in Parkersburg, W.Va.

Dr. Nick Swayne, Executive Director of 4-Virginia in Harrisonburg, Va.

Dr. James Y. Taylor, Senior Associate Vice President for Utah State University in Vernal, Utah.

The NIC Board of Trustees has scheduled each candidate to visit NIC to meet with faculty, staff, students and community members between June 9 and June 16. Each candidate will spend a day and a half visiting NIC’s main campus, as well as the Parker Technical Education Center and the Workforce Training Center, and meeting with constituent groups. Each candidate will participate in one-hour morning and afternoon open forums, which the public may attend in person in the Edminster Student Union Building’s Lake Coeur d’Alene Room on main campus or via Zoom.

Open forums are scheduled for:  

10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 in the Edminster SUB or via Zoom (morning forum and afternoon forum) with Dr. Brand.

10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday, June 10 in the Edminster SUB or via Zoom (morning forum and afternoon forum) with Dr. Taylor.

10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Monday, June 13 in the Edminster SUB or via Zoom (morning forum and afternoon forum) with Dr. Swayne.

10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 in the Edminster SUB or via Zoom (morning forum and afternoon forum) with Dr. Condon.

10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 in the Edminster SUB or via Zoom (morning forum and afternoon forum) with Dr. Crumbaker.

The Pauly Group will accept feedback from the public regarding each candidate via anonymous survey. Feedback will be compiled by the Pauly Group and submitted to the NIC Board of Trustees to review before selecting a successful candidate.
